Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

1. About this service

This service is operated by ChurchCloud ("we", "us", "our"). It provides a private, invitation-only file-sharing platform for use by members of a church congregation. It is not a public service and is not available to the general public.

By signing in and using this service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Who may use this service

Access to this service is restricted to individuals who have been personally invited by a church administrator. To use the service you must:

  • Be a current or associate member of the congregation, or an authorised representative of the church.
  • Use only your own account — accounts are personal and non-transferable.
  • Not share your sign-in link or session with any other person.

We reserve the right to revoke access at any time, without notice, where we believe these terms have been breached or where access is no longer appropriate.

3. Acceptable use

You must not use this service to upload, store, or share content that:

  • Is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, obscene, or offensive.
  • Infringes the copyright, trade mark, or other intellectual property rights of any person.
  • Contains malware, viruses, or other malicious code.
  • Violates the privacy or data protection rights of any individual.
  • Is unrelated to the purposes of the church or its congregation.

You must not use this service for any commercial purpose, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or its underlying systems.

4. Your content

Files and materials you upload ("your content") remain your property, or the property of the church where applicable. By uploading content you grant ChurchCloud a non-exclusive licence to store and make that content available to other authorised users of the service, solely for the purposes of operating the service.

Church administrators may remove any content that they reasonably believe breaches these terms or is otherwise inappropriate, without prior notice.

We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use it for any purpose other than operating and maintaining this service.

5. Data protection

We process your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Please read our Privacy Policy for full details of what data we collect, why we process it, and your rights.

6. Service availability

This service is provided on a best-efforts basis by ChurchCloud. We do not guarantee any particular level of availability, uptime, or performance. The service may be suspended, modified, or discontinued at any time without notice, including for maintenance, technical issues, or operational reasons.

We strongly recommend that you do not rely solely on this service for the storage of important files. Please retain your own copies of any files you upload.

7. Limitation of liability

This service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChurchCloud shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from:

  • Loss, corruption, or unavailability of files or data stored on the service.
  • Unauthorised access to your account or your content.
  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by English law.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Where changes are material, we will notify you by email. Your continued use of the service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
